Garbage Collection

Solid Waste Management customers are provided one garbage cart for disposal and collection of garbage. Residential garbage is collected once per week. Pay As You Throw allows residents to choose the size of their cart. Rates vary based on container size.  Fees are collected through the CPS Energy electric bill (City Services).

Effective October 1, 2024, the new monthly rates are as follows:

Included in the Environmental Fee is an additional $1.50 used to support Park environmental expenses such as sanitation, litter removal, mowing, and tree trimming. Additional garbage containers are available for an additional fee.

To request this city service, you may submit the form below or call 311 Customer Service at 3-1-1 or 210-207-6000. 311 is available seven days a week from 7am-7pm and 8am-5pm on holidays.

Please note: Trash bags are not required but recommended to help prevent spillage and keep the container clean. Carts can be placed out on the curb as early as 6pm the day before collection. Garbage carts should not be out on the curb on non-service days.
