Saving...
The Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) offers various locations to dispose of Christmas Trees in early January. View a list of disposal sites here.
If the tree is over 6 ft, please cut it in half, remove all lights, decorations and stands (including wooden stands). Do not bag trees. No live wreaths, garlands, or plants accepted.
Approximately one to two weeks after the Christmas tree disposal events, Christmas tree mulch will be available at the Bitters Brush Recycling Center for FREE while supplies last. The Bitters Brush Recycling Center is located at 1800 Wurzbach Parkway, San Antonio, Texas 78216 and is open Monday through Saturday (closed Sunday) from 8:00am-5:00pm.
You may also compost a real Christmas tree by placing it in the green organics cart as long as it completely fits in the cart with the lid closed. Artificial Christmas trees are accepted at the bulk disposal sites or may be placed in the garbage can as long as the lid closes.
