Traffic Signal Maintenance

Public works will evaluate the current condition of the traffic signals and determine what type of maintenance is needed. Depending on the severity of the issue, this service request type may be initially investigated within 1-7 working days.

This service request addresses traffic signal maintenance issues such as:

• Signal Malfunctions (out, flashing, etc.)
• Signal Timing
• Knocked down/Damaged Signals
• School Flashers
• Pedestrian Signals

For new traffic signal requests, Public Works will investigate if there is justification for a new traffic signal in an area to include a new flashing beacon, new school flasher, new left turn signal and/or new pedestrian signal. The engineering division will provide findings from the study and the type of work will be determined. The project may be placed on the IMP schedule, capital project schedule or future funding to be considered. This service request will be investigated within 60 working days.
