Public Works Operations performs maintenance on existing pavement markings for speed humps and existing delineators (in-street reflective poles) only. EXISTING school crosswalks and all other EXISTING pavement markings are on a 3-year maintenance cycle.
A traffic engineering evaluation will be needed to determine if changes to EXISTING pavement markings or new pavement markings are recommended. The investigation will determine if work is justified. If it is determined that work is required, funding will need to be identified for a future project. Requests for maintenance of existing pavement markings are handled through a separate request category and will be referred to the IMP Schedule. Traffic Engineering investigations for this service request type will be conducted within 90 working days.
The Infrastructure Management Program (IMP) is a five-year rolling program which focuses on the maintenance of San Antonio’s Infrastructure. Service needs are identified city wide and are scheduled for street maintenance, alley maintenance, drainage maintenance, sidewalks, traffic signals, pavement markings and Advanced Transportation District (ATD) related projects.
