SAPD Lights On Campaign

Saving...

The San Antonio Police Department is partnering with Lights On! - a program that works with law enforcement and auto service providers to replace tickets and warnings with repair voucher. The vouchers will cover up to $250 to get the light fixed at a participating auto shop.

How the program works:

*An officer must observe an equipment violation and will make the stop and issue a voucher if one is available.

*Officers hand out vouchers to drivers with burned-out headlights, taillights, brake lights, or turn signals

*Drivers redeem the vouchers at a participating auto shop

*The driver’s bulb problem is fixed FOR FREE (up to $250) and Lights On! reimburses the auto shop for their costs

Auto Shop Details:

* Drivers find a conveniently located, participating auto shop on the Lights On! webpage

* Auto shops’ essential information is posted on the Lights On! locator page

* Auto shops must be full-service repair providers

* Auto shops are to service anyone who arrives at their facility with a Lights On! voucher in a timely manner, and with no appointment required

* Auto shops agree to conduct no up-selling at that time

* Lights On! covers all bulb repairs up to $250, including jobs that require additional labor or expensive bulbs, at predetermined rates

* Upon completing the repairs, auto shops mail the invoice, voucher, and customer survey, to Lights On! and are reimbursed within 10 days
