Code Enforcement Services will investigate for low hanging tree limbs over sidewalks and/or streets. The City will prioritize those low-hanging tree limbs that create a visual obstruction or block street signage. The City may address the concern by issuing a notice or by proceeding with the process to abate low hanging limbs. There are notification exceptions for vacant properties near a school, over 48" and those that are on an annual notice list with previous violations. After the initial inspection, the City is required to provide the property owners 10 days to address the concern. The City will work diligently to get the property into compliance. If the issue is not in compliance, a case may be filed in Municipal Court within 90 working days.
