Saving...
Smoke Alarms are a key factor in preventing fire-related deaths. Through the Smoke Alarm Program, the San Antonio Fire Department offers free smoke alarms, including installation, to citizens living in single family homes in San Antonio. To date, SAFD has installed tens of thousands of smoke alarms throughout San Antonio, saving countless lives.
For a free smoke alarm or smoke alarm installation, please contact the United Way helpline at 2-1-1 or fill out a request form here.
Contact the 211 United Way Helpline by dialing 2-1-1 or (210) 227-4357, chose your preferred language then press Option 1 for services in the community to request a smoke alarm.
All donated smoke alarms must be new and in original packaging. Donations can be made from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at all SAFD Fire Stations, except for Station 23 at San Antonio International Airport, where donations will not be accepted.
