The Department of Human Services offers a variety of educational and support services to the San Antonio community. Including:

  • Head Start Program: Provides high-quality early childhood education and support services for children from six weeks to five years old. For more information, refer to the [Head Start Program]:
  • Ambassador Summer Internship Program: Offers paid summer internship opportunities to young adults. For more information, see the [Ambassador Internship Program]:
  • cafecollege: Supports youth and adults with college and career planning. For more information, visit [cafecollege]:
  • NXT LEVEL Youth Opportunity Center: Assists individuals aged 16 to 24 in overcoming life barriers by offering education and career coaching. For more information, refer to the [NXT LEVEL Youth Opportunity Center]:
  • Education Commissions: San Antonio Youth Commission, Higher Education Advisory Board, and the Commission on Education.

In addition, the department has partnered with community and non-profit organizations to provide adult education classes and programs for adolescents, including recreational activities. DHS is committed to ensuring access to continuous education services throughout San Antonio.
