Financial Empowerment Centers provide financial counseling. Counselors will give advice on reducing debt, building credit, and saving for retirement.

Residents interested in scheduling a financial counseling appointment can call:

  • Claude Black Community Center at (210) 207-5233 located at 2805 E. Commerce St.
  • Willie Velasquez Center at (210) 206-5372 located at 1302 N. Zarzamora

Services are free and available to all residents regardless of income.

Financial Empowerment Center counselors can help you:

  • Deal with debt collectors
  • Improve your credit
  • Build your savings
  • Create a budget
  • Find safe and affordable financial products
  • Other services based on your needs
