The focus of the Family Assistance Center is to provide low-income families and individuals with the support they need to move toward better jobs and financial self-sufficiency.
The Family Assistance Center helps families that are seeking to meet basic needs and achieve financial self-sufficiency and success through:
- CPS Energy utility bill assistance
- free tax preparation
- free financial counseling
- benefits navigating
- job-training support for those seeking better employment
You may apply for Utility assistance for CPS Energy (Project REAP & Project Warm):
- Online at City of San Antonio's Department of Human Services - Utility Assistance Application or get help by calling 210-207-7830 (for San Antonio residents) between the hours of 7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.
- Online at Bexar County Economic and Community Development or get help by calling 210-335-3666 (for Bexar County residents). The phone line is available Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
For San Antonio Waste Systems (SAWS) assistance including Plumbers to People and Project Agua, please contact SAWS at (210) 233-CARE(2273) or email Affordability@saws.org for Uplift programs.
