The City of San Antonio’s Metropolitan Health District's (Metro Health) Diabetes Prevention & Control program provides health education to the community specifically designed for people living with diabetes. Metro Health offers the Diabetes Self-Management program to people living with diabetes, and the Diabetes Prevention Program for people at risk for developing diabetes.
Metro Health is currently offering a series of virtual workshops aimed at self-management of diabetes and diabetes prevention. The free workshops are led by a trained Lifestyle Coach and will allow participants to work together in small virtual groups to learn about healthier eating and how to increase their physical activity to help lower their risk of developing diabetes.
To sign up for these workshops, and to see an upcoming list of virtual workshops, click on the “Find a Workshop” tab on Diabetes Help SA. There are contact phone numbers listed for each workshop.
