Metro Health will investigate food establishments when a person becomes ill after eating at a food establishment. Critical calls require immediate action by a Health Inspector. Critical issues include food borne illness where more than one person or a group of people ate the same food at about the same time in the same establishment. Critical reports are initially investigated within 1 working day.

To report food poisoning or food borne illness, you may submit the form below call 311 Customer Service at 3-1-1 or 210-207-6000. 311 is available seven days a week from 7am-7pm and 8am-5pm on holidays.
