Beginning January 1st, 2017 vehicles weighing 14,000 pounds or more are prohibited from idling more than five minutes (30 minutes for buses) within the City of San Antonio. Tickets will be issued to drivers of vehicles that idle for more than 5 minutes. The penalty for idling is a fine not to exceed $500 and a class C misdemeanor.
