Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) invites you to participate in the Free Landfill Day. San Antonio residents who need to dispose of broken furniture, worn out mattresses or other bulky items should bring a recent copy of their CPS Energy utility bill showing the solid waste fee along with a picture ID to participating landfills and designated drop-off locations. Please remember no contractor, commercial, industrial or hazardous waste will be accepted at this event. Loads in trucks and trailers should be secured and covered to prevent contents from blowing out onto roadways and creating traffic hazards. The landfill disposal events are held from 8am-1pm.
Accepted Materials:
- Household bulky items like appliances, furniture, and mattresses
- Carpet, fencing material, water heaters, and toilets
- Tires (limit six passenger vehicle tires per household)
Unacceptable Materials:
- Roofing material, sheet rock, dirt, brick, brush, lumber, or construction materials
- Industrial or commercial waste
