Municipal Archives and Records

The City's Digital Collection is available at San Antonio.Gov/Clerk . You must select Reference and Research, then Digital Collections.  The Digital Collection contains City Council approved Ordinances, Resolutions, City maps, plat maps, new city block tax maps also called NCBs. Click the link at the top titled “Help using the search page” to help you narrow your search as our collection is quite large and may time out on a broad search. Appointments must be scheduled in advance to utilize on-site research materials. You may also email cityclerkarchives@sanantonio.gov with your questions or to make an appointment. Please note that appointment times are limited.

The Office of the City Clerk maintains records for city-owned buildings only. Residential drawings or blueprints are not held by the City. For Permits and drawings of private commercial buildings, please contact the City’s Development Services Department at 210.207.1111.  Requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act must be made in writing and can be filed online at  sanantonio.gov/opengovernment. Note that a fee will be assessed for staff research time, use of equipment and copies under the Freedom of Information Act.
