Workforce Recovery Program


The Train for Jobs SA Program ended on December 31, 2021.  The City’s Workforce Development Office (WDO) is getting ready to roll out a new program (SA:  Ready to Work) in the Spring 2022.

Residents can contact 311, Option 8 (or 210-207-6000, option 8) to get pre-registered for the program if they meet the qualifications.

In the meantime, residents looking for immediate training can contact the agencies below who currently operate year round training programs:

  • Training for Job Success (210.207.5929) is offered by the City’s Department of Human Services to help people enroll in Alamo Colleges classes and find better jobs.
  • Project Quest (210.630.4690) is a local agency that connects residents with trades, manufacturing, healthcare, and IT courses to find better jobs.
  • Bexar County (210-335-1777) offers job assistance to Bexar County residents that live outside of the City of San Antonio city limits.

If residents have registered through the Train for Jobs program before December 31st and have not been contacted by their referred agency, residents can contact 311 Customer Service for assistance.

The 311 Call Center at 311 or 210-207-6000 is open daily from 7am-7pm and by pressing 1 for urgent animal care, road/traffic concerns or weather related emergencies until 11pm.
