Animal Sales

Saving...

Animal Care Services has a commitment to respond to and investigate calls identifying animals being sold, bartered or traded on roadsides, at flea markets or garage sales as well as those given away as prizes or inducements to promote entrance to businesses.

Officers will make location in attempts to catch offenders in the act, whereas the animals may be seized at the Officer's discretion and cited.  If the offenders aren't at the location at the time of arrival, the complainants may be contacted in the attempt to gather additional information that includes (but is not limited to) vehicle license plate information, vehicle/offender description and advertised phone numbers to potentially charge individuals.  Complainants may be requested to testify at hearings or provide positive ID of the suspects in some cases to obtain convictions. The initial response for this service request type is 12 hours.
