Brush Recycling Centers

The Brush Recycling Centers are open Monday through Sunday from 8:00am-5:00pm. The locations are:

  • Bitters Brush Recycling Center -1800 Wurzbach Parkway, San Antonio, Texas 78216
  • Nelson Garden Brush Recycling Center - 8963 Nelson Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78252

City of San Antonio residents who pay the City's environmental fee will pay a residential rate. When visiting the brush sites, residents need to bring a recent copy of their CPS Energy Bill and a photo I.D. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, credit card and check (with matching identification).

  • Resident Fees: 20lbs or less -$0.25 Over 20lbs- $0.235 per each increment of 20 lbs.
  • Non-Resident/Commercial Fees: Less than 2,000 lbs.- $25.00 More than 2,000 lbs. - $25.00 plus $25.00 per each additional ton

Customers utilizing city disposal sites must cover their loads by containment of the vehicle, or, if an open topped vehicle, by a covering (tarp). Having brush bagged or tied down does not constitute as having a tarp. A $5.00 penalty fee will be assessed for customers not in compliance.

Mulch is available only at the Bitters Brush Recycling Center. Fine mulch, which usually sells for $0.03 per pound in increments of twenty (20) pounds, will be free for both residential and commercial customers (while supplies last) during the month of June 2022. Coarse mulch is also available and is free year-round. Christmas tree mulch is free and only available for a limited time after January 1st.
